Santanu Das of MAKU returns to ARTISANS', where he first launched his collection in 2012. He carries forward Bengal’s fabled textile traditions through contemporary clothing. Founded in 2011 at the National Institute of Design (NID), MAKU works closely with artisan communities across Bengal, bringing authenticity, sustainability, and a refined simplicity to the world.

This Spring of 2026, ARTISANS' turns to the quietude of nature with Still... Life: Flower. Fruit. Foliage. Designers-turned-artists, Swati Chandak Sharma and Shefali Upadhyay trained at the National Institute of Design (NID), India. In 2020, during the pandemic, both independently turned to nature, and arrived at painting. Working in watercolour, their practices are grounded in observation, patience, and quiet attention.

Becoming UnBecoming is a contemporary art series by Santosh Kumar Das that explores transformation, identity, and imaginative becoming through inherited Mithila art traditions, ritual symbolism, embodied seeing, and the metaphysical interplay of memory, materiality, and myth.
