Anvi Nimi Shah is a fiber artist from Pune, specialising in beaded structures and embellished surfaces. Her work is a riot of colour and pattern that fills you with a sense of joy and energy.
Anvi has been working as a Community Artist Educator at a museum and craft institute called the Living and Learning Design Centre (LLDC) based in Kutch, Gujarat. LLDC celebrates tradition while embracing the challenges of preserving those traditions in the modern world. Anvi and LLDC are running a craft revival project to preserve, promote and develop the dwindling craft of beadwork in the region by effectively communicating design principles to traditional craftswomen.
In this edit, you see the culmination of this revival project in the form of a collection created by a group of beaders from Kutch alongside Anvi’s original works.
