The ‘Koromo’ collection offers one-of-a-kind art to wear! Japanese designer Ryoko Haraguchi's avant garde designs integrate timeless Indian textiles with traditional Japanese techniques.
Using silks, Haraguchi marries techniques of weaving and stitching, with Japanese Kaki-shibu persimmon dyeing. The persimmon dye bathes the fabric with a tannin-rich, aged and fermented persimmon extract.
For this taffeta silk set woven in India, the silk is dyed gray and then overdyed with Kaki-shibu. The form is directly made on a mannequin for this sculpted silhouette where the blouse features elegant tucks on the right side of the body with a flowing hem. The skirt is long, and has an elasticated waist and slit for an ageless fit!
