The ‘Koromo’ collection offers one-of-a-kind art to wear! Japanese designer Ryoko Haraguchi's avant garde designs integrate timeless Indian textiles with traditional Japanese techniques.
Using silks, Haraguchi marries techniques of weaving and stitching, with Japanese Kaki-shibu persimmon dyeing. The persimmon dye bathes the fabric with a tannin-rich, aged and fermented persimmon extract.
The texture for this silk coat is a complex one: a gray gradation-dyed Indian silk is overdyed with Kaki-shibu, and the entire surface is then embroidered and quilted. The relaxed fit of this oversized silhouette has comfortable raglan sleeves with extended cuffs. Such ageless chic!
