As innovative as it was in 1999, a textile designer with a background in applied art creates wearable art in the textile print medium. Techniques from paper are transposed, and dry brush, linocut, and wood cut create textured overlays on tussah silk.
Skilled hand block printers deliberately avoid repeating patterns; mistakes are opportunities to stretch the properties of this traditional medium. Letting go of control, these rhythmic compositions are alive with the invisible energy of an artist.
