As innovative as it was in 1999, this collection of wearable art owes as much to the textile print medium, as it does to graphic design. Techniques from paper are transposed, and dry brush, linocut, and wood cut create textured overlays on tussah silk.
Skilled hand block printers deliberately avoid repeating patterns; mistakes are opportunities to stretch the properties of this traditional medium. Letting go of control, these rhythmic compositions are alive with the invisible energy of an artist.
