Siddharth Sadashiv’s contemplative works of art, originate in the abstract compositions of his architectural photography. The process alternates between deconstructing and rebuilding form and structure through “assemblages of repurposed cloth” layer upon layer.
ASSEMBLAGE transforms these abstractions of light and shade from the photographs, to textile - exploring materials, textures, and stitching techniques borrowed from the local ‘kavandi’ quilts of Northern Karnataka.
A graduate of Visual Communications and Printmaking, Siddharth has studied at the Krishnamurthy Foundation‘s Valley School; the D J Academy of Design, Coimbatore; and the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath.
