Turaz by Vraj:bhoomi

Vraj:bhoomi continues to be inspired by the textiles along the Silk Road. With Turaz, designer Bhoomi Dani turns the lens on Uzbekistan, the Central Asian country that remains largely unknown. Its tiled architecture, intricate Islamic ceramics, and Suzani textiles (embroidery in Farsi), form the heart of this block-printed Ajrakh collection.
As Timur, ruled an empire that stretched from Delhi to Constantinople in the 14th-century, it is not surprising that the motifs resonate with Ajrakh from Northwest India.

Vraj:Bhoomi is the brainchild of Bhoomi Dani, an alumnus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology. The other half of Vraj:Bhoomi is Priyam Shah, academically an aviator, and a passionate art-admirer.
Their work with the artisans and craftsmen of Gujarat is aimed at encouraging people to consider where their clothing comes from, and to prove that Indian fashion can be extremely plush whilst maintaining the traditional design philosophy.
