ARTISANS'   |   21 August 2018 - 23 August 2018 | 11 am to 7 pm

Remote villages in Nagaland preserve their unique textile traditions by continuing to weave nettle fabric and cotton using the the oldest loom adopted by humans- the loin loom or the back strap loom that is still traditionally used by the Chakhesang Nagas and the other tribes of North East India.

This exhibition celebrates the exceptional women artisans of the North-East, including a representation of Naga weaves from various tribes; Tussar, Eri and Muga silks; nettle shawls; throws, home essentials, and more.
